Both Hanska and Kaiserhoff lost first round games in Region 4B playoffs in amateur baseball Wednesday night while in the Tomahawk Stark took the series from St. James to advance to the regional. New Ulm vs Essig and Lamberton vs Searles were seeding and drafting priority games.

The Mankato Twins shut down Hanska 4-0 while Marshall edged New Ulm Kaiserhoff 5-3 in first of a best of three series for each. Series winners will qualify for the state tournament, either as region champion or runner-up.

Lamberton 10-runned Searles 10-0 and Brewers edged Essig 10-7 in a wild one for draft and seeding positioning. Stark meanwhile toppled St. James 6-2 to advance to the regional as the division champion.
