LECENTER - Veteran Brave's right-Hander Lynn Schwarz kept Bullhead hitters off balance Friday evening in LeCenter's 8-2 victory overSearles. He walked only one while striking out three. The Braves jumped out to a three-run first inning lead as losing pitcher Kevin Hulke walked the lead off hitter, allowed four hits, and hit one LeCenter batter in the inning.
Hulke then settled into a grove and threw three scoreless innings until the fifth, when both he and reliever Dave Fauth allowed four more runs on four hits and two walks.
In the top of the fifth the Bullheads started a short comeback as John Giefer's single drove in Troy Kamm to make it a 3-1 game. Schwarz was able to avoid further damage as ball after ball washit directly at his fielders who handled them flawlessly.
The final Searles run came in the seventh when Giefer's doubled forhis third run to score a singling Bruce Jacobs.
Both teams collected 10 hits, but the LeCenter hits were timely and were aided by the six free-passes.
>p>Next action for the Bullheads is Saturday evening as they travel to Fairbault. They then host Veseli Sunday afternoon at 4 p.m. in Searles.
