Two one-run games decided first round winners in the Region 2C amateur baseball action Saturday.

Four teams scored only three total runs as Searles nipped Stark 1-0 at Searles while Essig scored early and got by New Ulm 2-1. Essig plays at Lamberton and New Ulm at Stark in second-round games. Stark hosts the game since it did not have a home game in the first round and faces a do-or-die situation against the Brewers. Searles (1-0) faces Lamberton (0-0) which received a first game bye because of it's high seeding.
