Essig and New Ulm Brewers play at Essig at 2 p.m. today to determine the championship of Section 2B and for the final draft rights of an additional player to take along to the state baesball tournament. The teams each may select one battery player from three teams.

The Brewers forced the third and deciding game by handing Essig a 9-7 loss .. or was it more like Essig handing the Brewers a win in an "ugly" "semi-final championship game". There were 10 errors in the game, numerous wild pitches and passed balls.

Essig jumped to a 6-0 lead after five innings with New Ulm storming back with seven runs in their fifth and sixth innings. Essig tied it with a run in the top of eighth only to have New Ulm pick up two in the same inning for the win.
