JORDAN - Searles' Bullheads did it again, winning their fourth state championship of the
Minnesota Senior Men's Amateur Baseball Association for 2010. A 1-0 victory Sunday night featured a pitcher's duel with a pair of New Ulm natives as Bullheads ace Terry Steinbach bested Slayton's Mike Wenninger 1-0.

Steinbach scattered nine Slayton hits, all singles. He walked only one while striking out four supported by a stellar defense.
Searles scored the winning run in the bottom of the seventh inning. Dave Fauth led off the inning with a slicing line drive to right center field. Slayton's right fielder made a valiant diving attempt to catch the hit, but was unable to cut it off. The ball rolled to the wall and Fauth cruised into third base with a triple, just the third hit off Wenninger.
The Barnstormer manager/first basemanTarry Boelter, formerly of Sleepy Eye chose to issue intentional passes to both Tom and Terry Steinbach to load the bases for Doug Ekstrom. Ekstrom worked the count full, fouling off some good pitches, then drove a base hit to left-center to win the game for the Bullheads.
This was the fourth state championship in the last six years for the Bullheads, but this one was very special, as they entered the 2010 tournament as the seventh seed. The Bullheads had always been one of the top three seeds in each of their previous five state tournament appearances.
The whole Bullheads team issued a thank you the Searles Baseball Association for their hospitality and their families and fans for their support throughout the 2010 baseball season.
