HOFFMANN RECEIVES TWO OF TEAM'S SIX SEASON AWARDS

ALBUQUERQUE - New Ulm's Jamie Hoffmann has received two of the six awards bestowed for season achievements with the 2010 Albuquerque Isotopes. He was selected as Defensive Player of the Year and "Mr. Hustle."

The four other team awards given were for most valuable player, pitcher of the Year, power Hitter and most community-minded player Isotope. Only Hoffmann received more than one award.

The news article announcing the awards included the following:

"Defensive Player of the Year: Jamie Hoffmann- OF

The in-play grass berm in center field at Isotopes Park might as well be re-named "Hoffmann's Hill" after how well the outfielder has played it this season, making one spectacular play after another. Entering play Sunday, Hoffmann had played 114 games in center, more than anyone else in the PCL this year, while also recording six outfield assists. On July 26, Hoffmann made what might be the most spectacular catch in Isotopes Park history, robbing Nashville's Matt Gamel of a home run after making a leaping grab over the fence at the 400 sign in straightaway center field.

Mr. Hustle: Jamie Hoffmann- OF

To be known as "Mr. Hustle," you have play virtually every day, a qualification that certainly fits Jamie Hoffmann, who entering play Sunday logged a team-high 129 games, third most in the PCL. The outfielder not only played a lot, but played well a lot, batting .310 with a League-leading 156 hits in a PCL-high 503 at-bats."
