Russellville, Ark. - New Ulm grad and Brewer pitcher Kyle Fischer appeared in his first collegiate baseball game as St. Cloud State University baseball team (1-0) opened its 2011 season Sunday, Feb. 13 with a 10-5 victory at Arkansas Tech University in Russellville, Ark.
The Huskies split a doubleheader Sunday with Arkansas Tech.
In the first game, SCSU's Logan Birr gained his first win of the season with four innings of work. He had three strikeouts in the game and allowed just three hits and three runs (none of the runs were earned). Fischer completed the game for SCSU with five innings of work, three strikeouts, three hits allowed and two earned runs allowed.
Brother Garrett, also a freshman, did not record at bat in playing left field and played in both Sunday games with one at bat and a run scored.
