ITS SORTA LIKE NEW ULM DAY AT SCSU SATURDAY

New Ulm baseball will be dominant Saturday when St. Cloud State's Huskies play Winona in a conference doubleheader that has been rescheduled to avoid threatening weather Sunday. Game will be at Joe Faber Field on Veteran's Drive.

Saturday at 1 p.m. Kyle Fischer will get the starting nod. The New Ulm High School freshman is 5-0 this season. Brother Garrett will likely see action also and has been used in late innings in left and right field, at first base and as a pinch hitter.

Winona has another NUHS grad, Nate Van Roeckel as the regular third baseman this season. The Warriors are 10-0 in the conference and have an 11-game winning streak on the line.

Progress of these and other New Ulm players is reported regularly in the College Watch column at the top of the page.
