CREIGHTON BLANKS MUDHENS 10-0 FOR JR. CLASSIC TITLE

Creighton of Omaha, NE scored six runs in the first and two each in the second and third to blank the 'Tonka Mudhens 10-0 for the championship of the Jr. Midwest Classic baseball tournament. The Mudhens got only two hits and committed five errors. They were the defending champions.

Creighton moved into the title game with a 12-2 win over Hutchinson while 'Tonka stopped Cold Spring 8-4 to advance.

In Pool B, Creighton was the only undefeated team and with Hutchinson finishing 3-1, edging out Maple Grove Jr. Legion with tie-breaking rules. Creighton handed Cold Spring it's only loss, 6-1, in a mid-day Saturday game.

In the semis, Tonka meets Cold Spring at 9 a.m. while Creighton goes against Hutchinson at noon. Losers drop out with the championship game going to 2:30. Both are at Johnson Park.
