SEARLES BULLHEADS LOSE TO SLAYTON 9-3

SEARLES - The Slayton Barnstormers stormed into Searles Sunday afternoon and scored seven early runs to knock off the host Bullheads 9-3 in Senior Baseball action.

Slayton jumped on starter Kevin Hulke in the first inning scoring three runs on two doubles, two singles and an error. They expanded the lead to 7-0 in the second on three hits and a pair of walks.

Bullheads finally got on the board in the third inning scoring two runs on base hits by Troy Kamm, Corey Schaefer, and Tom Steinbach. But Barnstormers' winning pitcher Rob Peterson and reliever Mickey Sehr seemed to thwart most Bullhead scoring opportunities throughout the game. Searles stranded nine base runners in the contest and were out-hit 11-8. Brandt Drill finished up the game on the mound for Searles allowing just one run in two innings.

The Bullheads continue their home stand as they host LeCenter Wednesday evening at 8:00 and Shakopee Friday at 7:30 p.m. They then host Bloomington at 3 p.m. Sunday. The Bloomington game is a scheduling change as it was moved back one day.
