LAMBERTON ELIMINATES ESSIG IN TOMAHAWK EAST PLAYOFF

Derrick Jenniges threw a complete game for Lamberton on Tuesday, striking out seven as the Long Sox move on to the Region 2-C tournament after beating Essig 4-1 in Lamberton.

After winning the three-game series 2-1, Lamberton takes on the winner of Springfield and Leavenworth on Saturday.

On offense, Mike Samyn hit a one-out, two-run double in the bottom of the second inning for the Long Sox. Isaac Jenniges brought in another run to put the score at 3-0.

Landon Erickson went 2-for-3 with two doubles and an RBI, and Johnny Pistulka had two hits, including a double.

Kyle Helget led the Blue Jays at the dish, picking up three of the team's five hits.
