Stan Zweifel who coached New Ulm High School football from 1977 to 1980 concluded his third season as head coach at University of Dubuque where his son Mike became a national NCAA statistics leader. His total career receptions is an NCAA record. Coach Zweifel's team was 902 and the Iowa Conference Champions for 2011.
Zweifel later went to Minnesota State-Mankato and then to Whitewater Wisconsin before taking the Dubuque job. He left New Ulm in 1980 with winning season (5-4) and won 13 while losing 23. In the college area he has been a recognized writer and producer of training aids.
