New Ulm Sports Central - Preserving and Sharing New Ulm Area Sports History

Sara Burk of Minnesota Valley Lutheran was selected to the first team All-Area volleyball by sponsor New Ulm Journal.

Selected to the second team was Lisa Helget, Cathedral; and Carlie Maasz, Minnesota Valley. Martha Johnson to MVL and Paige Pautzke of Cathedral drew recognition on the third team. Bree Friedman and Briana Sieve of New Ulm High School were honorable mention.

Burk's resume noted she missed the early season but made an immediate impact upon her return in helping the Chargers make a deep run in the Section 2A playoffs.

Burk had team high kills (218), and record blocks (60), digs (98), and aces (33). She was All-Tomahawk for two years and finished her career with 595 kills, 164 blocks, 346 digs and 113 aces.
