Kenneth Lee Ahlness, 87, who pitched for Hanska as well as a short stint in the Northern Professional League, died March 6, 2013 at Walker Minnesota.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Neisen, originally from New Ulm.
Ahlness signed a Pittsburgh Pirate minor league contract in 1948 and only got into one game at Fargo when he injured his arm. In a game (date to be determined) he once struck out 25 batters and won the game by hitting a bases-loaded triple.
After working in Minneapolis the family retired on Leech Lake near Walker, MN.
Memorial services were held March 12, 2013 in Minneapolis with a number of Hanska and people attending.
