Pairings announced for the new sub-state 2 American Legion baseball tournament this weekend in New Ulm pit host New Ulm Gold against Woodbury Thursday evening at 7 p.m. Woodbury was assigned to this region to help give metro teams more representation in the state playoff.

also new to the district is St. Peter with District 2 veterans like Mankato (2 teams), Worthington, Fairmont and Sleepy Eye remain in the district. Sleepy Eye meets Mankato American in the tournament opener at 9:30 a.m. Thursday. See the complete bracket via the link below.

The double elimination tournament allows for a losers bracket and concludes Sunday at noon with a possible second game to decide the state tournament entry. The state tournament is at Edina this year.
