Mud Man Mack settles for national second place in ATM races final standings

There's green and orange (or purle) under this Tennessee mud Saturday and that's Tyler Mack

The national championship of ATV racing eluded New Ulm's Tyler Mack at Hurricane Mills, TN Saturday. The area near Nashville

received heavy rains Friday and Saturday. He was competing in the Schoolboy Sr 14-17 class.

A report from the very wet track at the Loretta Lynn ranch indicated a first lap mishap caused a chain reaction and left Mack out of contention while the season's leader continued to hold a slim eight-point lead on the Minnesota challenger. He did get credit for an eighth place finish and had enough points to be the national runner-up in his competition class. Sunday he moved up to fourth in the Moto 2 race. He was fourth overall in the junior competition and fifth in the Schoolboy 1`4-17 class. In the Junior competition he scored a third and fourth place finish.

Details are posted on this website: http://atvmotocross.com/ .

Mack won a national ATV title in 2010 in his age category.

Saturday's event was the ninth and final in the season's summer series throughout the country. He missed only the races in the Rocky Mountain region.
