Boelter played six years with the Brewers from 1982-87, and then he played six more years with the Kaiserhoff from 1990-95.   Later, he played a few years with Sleepy Eye.

A versatile player, Boelter played some at third base, catcher, pitcher, and in right field.

In 1982 and 1983, Boelter played both Legion and Brewer baseball after playing on the 1981 state VFW championship team.  In each of his six years with the Kaiserhoff, the team played in the state tournament.

Boelter's best statistical year was 1986, when he batted .379 for the Brewers with three four-hit games and 30 RBIs. In 1990, his first season with the Kaiserhoff, Boelter batted .295 with 10 homeruns and 38 RBIs.  His amateur career in New Ulm totaled 39 homeruns.

Boelter also managed the Brewers in 1987 and the Kaiserhoff in 1994 and 1995. He posted a strong 42-24 won-lost record in his career as a manager.

After strong high school and Legion baseball careers, Boelter played two years of junior college baseball, and he then finished with two seasons at Southwest State in Marshall.
