Chuck Carmichael was introduced to New Ulm baseball as a player at Dr. Martin Luther College in New Ulm from 1963-1964, and he played amateur men’s baseball in New Ulm from 1964-1975. Chuck played every position except catcher in his career, and he could always be counted on to be present at every game. He was truly a team player.

Chuck hit .337 and sported a 1.46 ERA for the New Ulm Millers in 1964. In the Millers' 1965 season, he hit .351 and had a 2.96 ERA.

For his career, Carmichael pitched 162 innings with 184 strikeouts and a 2.61 ERA. He also posted a .269 batting average in 450 career at-bats, with 121 hits, 98 runs scored, 25 doubles, 8 triples, 6 home runs, and 101 RBIs. He had a 14-strikeout performance in a win against Kiester in 1964, and during the 1965 season he once batted 9-10 during a two-game span with 3 doubles, 2 triples and a homerun.

Chuck played for all three New Ulm amateur teams, the Millers, Brewers and Kaiserhoff during his career.
