          Pete Eichten was honored by being selected to the inaugural group of inductees to the New Ulm Baseball Hall of Fame during Johnson Park's 50th Anniversary celebration in 1989.

          Eichten was nominated for his dedicated service to New Ulm baseball and for the time he spent in organizing the New Ulm amateur baseball program. Many consider him the father of the New Ulm Baseball Association (NUBA). He served as the director of the NUBA from 1939-1945 and was also very active in the baseball that was played at the Brown County fairgrounds before 1939.
