          Richard Eichten was honored by being selected to the inaugural group of inductees to the New Ulm Baseball Hall of Fame during Johnson Park's 50th Anniversary celebration in 1989.

          Eichten played right field and first base with the New Ulm Brewers from 1939-1943 and again from 1945-1951. He was a member of the 1941 Brewers' state championship team and the 1947 team that finished as the runner-up in Double "AA." His teams also made the state tournament in the 1939 and the 1949 seasons. Eichten had a lifetime batting average of .282 with 973 at-bats in 288 games. He had seven homeruns, 16 triples, 33 doubles, and 166 RBIs in his career.
