          Herb McIvor was honored by being selected to the inaugural group of inductees to the New Ulm Baseball Hall of Fame during Johnson Park's 50th Anniversary celebration in 1989.

          McIvor was nominated for his contributions in the area of statistics and operations of the baseball games in New Ulm. The amazing amount of statistics available for New Ulm baseball resulted from his files, which he started in the 1940's. He was on the board of directors of the New Ulm Baseball Association from 1943-1953, and he became the area's leading authority on baseball scoring.

          McIvor was also the PA voice of New Ulm baseball in the early years.
