Gordan (Gordy) Palmer

Non-Player (Board Member)

Selected 1999

Gordan Palmer was one of 29 non-players to be inducted into the New Ulm Baseball Hall of Fame by 1999.  He one of those inductees who have been recognized for the important roles that they have had in keeping amateur baseball alive in New Ulm.

Palmer joined his son Doug, who was inducted to the Hall in 1995.

When Doug left New Ulm for a stint in minor league baseball, Gordy stayed home to continue boosting the local baseball program.  The elder Palmer was elected to the baseball board in 1978 and served 10 years.  In half of those years he was a board officer and also was the league representative or alternate.

Since leaving official duties as a board member, Palmer has remained active as a baseball booster and has continued to serve in a variety of ways.  Johnson Park fans may recognize his voice as a public address announcer.  He also serves on the Hall of Fame committee.
