New Ulm HALL OF FAME Member
Ronald Reinhart
Non-Player (Special Support)
Selected 1998
Although keeping baseball statistics for two amateur baseball teams may
be considered a bothersome job for most people, Ron Reinhart considers it fun and something to look forward
to each year.
Ron began
his statistical work in 1961. His aunt and uncle, the late Herb and
Mildred McIvor, kept amateur baseball stats from 1939 to 1954, and
they
passed their information on to Ron. He then began his labor of love
by
researching the New Ulm Journals for the missing stats from the 1955 to 1960 period
to complete the stat collection.
Statistics aside, Reinhart was recording secretary and was in charge of
tracking down all former New Ulm baseball players for the 50th
Johnson Park anniversary in 1989. He was also in charge of booklet
information for the 1990 state amateur baseball tournament in New
Ulm.
Ron
served as Recording Secretary on the committee that attempted to lure
the state amateur baseball Hall of Fame museum to New Ulm. He has
served as recording secretary and historian for the New Ulm Amateur
baseball Hall of Fame since 1990.
Ron does
special projects for the New Ulm Baseball Association and has drawn
up Ara Wilson league baseball schedules. He also has served as
recording secretary-historian for the American Legion Hall of Fame
committee.
