New Ulm HALL OF FAME Member
Wenzel (Red) Wiesner
Non-Player (Director)
Selected 1995
Long and meritorious service to New Ulm baseball resulted in the
nomination of Wenzel (Red) Wiesner to the New Ulm Baseball Hall of Fame.
Wiesner
served two terms on the board of the New Ulm Baseball Association, a
total of 12 1/2 years. He first served from 1959-1968, a span which included seven
years as treasurer. He later served a year and half stint on the
board from 1988-1990.
Besides his
treasurer's duties, Wiesner was virtually the designated Tomahawk
League representative either as an alternate or as the league officer,
and Weisner
served as the president, vice president, and secretary of the Tomahawk
League at different times throughout his involvement with amateur
baseball.
A
more-than-willing worker, Wiesner always could be counted on to
complete any tasks assigned to him.
